My name is Bobby Shih. I am a scientist currently pursuing my Ph.D in the Integrated Cellular, Molecular and Biomedical Studies
program at Columbia University as a fifth year Ph.D candidate under
Professor Teresa Palomero, anticipating the completion of my Ph.D in December, 2023. I'm passionate about unravelling the molecular mechanisms underpinning cancer and tumorigenesis, and how we can leverage extensive knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry to improve patient outcomes from
in silico insights to the bench! I have extensive experience running both bioinformatics analysis for the discovery of meaningful biological mechanisms in cancer to performing the bench-side experiments needed to validate these findings. I believe that my experience in computational biology and wet-lab experimentation results in a unique outlook on cancer research, and I am constantly using my experience in one to inform the other. I am currently
open to work, seeking a position as a Bioinformatic Scientist, Computational Biologist, or related role! With the exciting development of next-generation sequencing techniques that both increase resolution and enable multi-omic characterization of heterogeneous tumor cells, I am excited to bring these cutting-edge techniques to the field of cancer therapeutics! Check out my current research and examples of my computational analysis on
Github and don't hesitate to reach out!
